President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov held a meeting on situation on the border in Batken region.
Security officials reported to the head of state ion the situation and measures taken to prevent similar events in the future.
Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov told that five days long negotiations on resolving border issues were held with the Tajik side. In his opinion, they were constructive.
Recall, an agreement on elimination of all kinds of border posts with the aim of unimpeded movement of people has been reached. The bypass road to Ak-Sai village will be completed, it will be common and used by both citizens of Kyrgyzstan and citizens of Tajikistan. An agreement was also reached on the construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road for driving cattle from three rural areas of Batken region.
«There are reports that Isfara — Vorukh road has been transferred to the Tajik side. These are opinions of incompetent people who are unfamiliar with this locality, do not have information and are not aware of the situation. There is no talk about some kind of corridor and the status of the road, it will be a public road for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. This decision was discussed with the local population, and they gave their consent,» concluded Zhenish Razakov.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov criticized the actions of security forces because of the lack of preventive work with the population and on prevention of the conflicts.
He stressed that the border guards should not only draw duty in the territories entrusted to them, but also be able to conduct diplomatic negotiations with the local population and their colleagues from a neighboring country.
«Peace in the republic depends on stability at the borders. Whatever the situation arises, we must work to anticipate and resolve all issues together with representatives of local authorities and the population, not to allow various provocations,» the president said.
He stressed the need for timely solution of social, economic problems and the needs of the population in the border areas.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Presidential Administration Dosaly Esenaliev, the Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbaev, the Prosecutor General Otkurbek Zhamshitov, the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Idris Kadyrkulov, the Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Raiymberdi Duishenbiev, the Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, the Chairman of the State Border Service Ularbek Sharsheev and Deputy Minister of the Interior Almazbek Orozaliev.
