Night on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border passes without incidents

Night on the border with Tajikistan in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, where a conflict broke out on March 13-14 because of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road, passed without incidents. The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic informed 24.kg news agency.

According to the service, villagers went home yesterday night at about 22.00. About 10 people were on duty at the scene. The road is still closed by Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Negotiations between representatives of the border agencies of the two states will continue today.

Telephone conversations took place between the presidents and prime ministers of the two countries, during which mutual readiness to conduct an objective investigation and prevent similar situations in the future was expressed.

Recall, a conflict occurred on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border in Ak-Sai village of Batken region on March 13. According to preliminary data, citizens of Tajikistan wanted to hinder construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road. Kyrgyz border guards prevented this. People started throwing stones at each other. There are injured citizens of the two states.
