At least 10 new enterprises were launched in 2018 in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use reported.
It is noted that six out of 24 industries are economy-forming, providing up to 90 percent of industrial products, five of which belong to the manufacturing industry.
Last year, subjects of the manufacturing industry produced products for 190 billion soms. The share of the metallurgical industry is 42.6 percent, food processing — 11.7 percent, construction materials production — 6.6 percent, oil refining — 5.3 percent, textile-garment, leather and footwear production — 3.3 percent. The share of other industries is negligible.
Development of industrial production in the context of the regions has a positive trend, except for Issyk-Kul region, where there is a decline of 4.5 percent due to a decrease in gold production at Kumtor mine.
