Information on the increase of tariffs for water and electricity and on raising the retirement age of citizens does not correspond to reality. The Information Support Department of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Users of social networking sites are actively spreading information about increase in tariffs for water and electricity, as well as raising the retirement age of Kyrgyz citizens since the beginning of 2019.
«The Government’s Executive Office states that such information is not true. The government does not plan to initiate either an increase in tariffs or an increase in the retirement age. We consider it important to remind about criminal responsibility for spreading false information and ask citizens to refrain from illegal provocative actions,» the message says.
Last week, Mirgul Aidarova, deputy head of the State Agency for the Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex, said at a round table discussion that new electricity tariffs might be adopted in 2019. And in July 2018, the Chairman of the Social Fund, Meder Irsaliev, told 24.kg news agency journalist that the possibility of raising the retirement age for certain categories of citizens was discussed in Kyrgyzstan.
