The State Committee for National Security will continue to investigate the criminal case against former Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiev. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The decision, previously taken by SCNS to dismiss the case, is unreasonable. Therefore, it is investigated. Earlier, lawyer of Moldomusa Kongantiev, Ikramidin Aitkulov, noted that criminal prosecution against his client was stopped due to the absence of corpus delicti in the actions of the police general.
Former Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiev was accused of abuse of office during the April 2010 events.
After April 7, 2010, Moldomusa Kongantiev left Kyrgyzstan. He was detained in Moscow by the FSB of Russia and extradited to Bishkek. On April 26, 2010, by the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, he was taken into custody. Moldomusa Kongantiev was questioned as part of the investigation into the events that took place on April 6-7, 2010 in Talas and Bishkek. Later, the investigation decided that the police general should be under arrest. However, he was later released.
