State debt of Kyrgyzstan. Each citizen owes $ 702.7

As a result of January-October 2018, the state debt of the Kyrgyz Republic reached $ 702.7 per each citizen. Over the month, the debt burden grew by $ 9.9.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as of October 31, 2018, the total amount of state debt (external + internal) of Kyrgyzstan was $ 4,427.11 billion (308,497.99 billion soms), including $ 3,806.9 billion (265,279.5 billion soms) — external, $ 620.21 million (43,218.49 billion soms) — internal debt.

Over the month, the country’s state debt increased by $ 62.11 million. Most of all, Kyrgyzstan still owes the Export-Import Bank of China — $ 1,681.27 billion (44.2 percent of the total foreign debt).

As a result of October, the state debt of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 59.9 percent of GDP.

As of August 1, 2018, at least 6.3 million people lived in Kyrgyzstan. The average salary in the republic is 15,752 soms. As a result, in order to repay the state debt, each Kyrgyzstani must pay 3.1 of his or her salaries.
