The Jalal-Abad Regional Court upheld the verdict of the first instance court to a man, suspected of raping a 5-year-old girl.
The verdict of the court states that in November 2017, the 25-year-old man, being drunk, opened a car, pulled out the sleeping child from there and raped her in a neglected house.
The Jalal-Abad City Court sentenced the man to 20 years behind bars with serving his sentence in a colony with reinforced regime.
The accused appealed against the decision of the first instance court in the regional court.
During the trial, the defendant pleaded not guilty. He said that he did not commit violent acts against the child.
«On November 14, I drank vodka and cognac with my friends. At about 9 pm, when I was returning home, I saw a little girl, I thought it was my friend’s daughter. I took her home to this friend, but he did not come out. I was drunk and fell asleep. I was awakened by two guys. I do not remember how I got to the abandoned house, but I did not touch the girl. The shorts sent by the investigator for examination are not mine,» the defendant said.
Despite these testimonies, the court found the defendant guilty under the article «Rape of a minor.»
