Madrasahs working in Kyrgyzstan without license to be closed

Kyrgyzstan intends to continue to close madrasahs, which work without a license. The head of the Department of Ethnic, Religious Policy and Interaction with the Civil Society of the Presidential Administration Mira Karybaeva told today at a round table discussion.

According to her, Kyrgyzstan successfully fights against terrorist organizations.

«517 people were convicted for extremist activity. The system of religious education is being improved. The licensing system is in the process of development. We began to close religious educational institutions, if they do not fit the standards. At least 10 madrasahs have been closed, 20 have received instructions. Educational services should be provided only according to the state standard,» Mira Karybaeva noted.

She added that close attention is paid not only to religious educational institutions, but also to the activities of clergymen.
