Kyrgyzstanis won 12 medals at the Kazakhstan Open 2018 International Tournament in karate WKF, held the day before in Almaty. The Executive Director of Karate Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Dmitry Kazanov informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, about 400 sportsmen from ten countries took part in the competition. Kyrgyzstan’s team won three gold, four silver and five bronze medals.
The champions are Umida Aysaeva (14-15- year-old, up to 47 kg), Aygerim Murzakanova (14-15- year-old, up to 54 kg) and Adilet Shadykanov (adults, over 84 kg).
«Now we are preparing for the Asian Championship among the cadets, juniors and youth. It will take place in May in Japan,» Dmitry Kazanov added.
