Fire safety rules were violated in some shopping centers in Bishkek during reconstruction. The State Ecological and Technical Safety Inspectorate informed 24.kg news agency.
According to the agency, one of these shopping centers transformed underground parking into a trading zone. «In general, shopping centers are built in compliance with all the rules and regulations, but the owners made the rearrangements inside the buildings later. There are violations that may have negative effects in case of a fire,» the State Ecological Inspectorate noted.
24.kg news agency asked the inspectors whether they were going to conduct unscheduled inspections in the shopping centers of the capital in connection with the tragedy in Kemerovo, which killed 64 people. The agency explained that this requires a permit from the Ministry of Economy.
The Ministry of Economy noted that, according to the procedure, the State Ecological Inspectorate should itself initiate unscheduled inspections and send an appropriate request to the ministry. Scheduled inspections of Bishkek’s shopping centers are carried out once a year. If in 2017 they were checked in August, this year- only in September.
Recall, after the fire in Osh market, which had burned twice since the beginning of the year, experts began inspection of all the markets of the republic and found serious violations.
