Sayakbai Film to represent Kyrgyzstan at Golden Globe Awards

The film Sayakbai will represent Kyrgyzstan at the awards of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Golden Globe. Press service of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The world premiere took place at the International Montreal Film Festival on August 31, 2017, at which the movie got an award in the nomination Best Innovative Film.

The director of the movie Sayakbai is Ernest Abdyzhaparov. Marat Zhantaliev, Baktybek Nurmat uulu, Umot Doolot uulu star in the film. In addition, the son of the writer Eldar played the role of Chingiz Aitmatov.

Golden Globe is an American award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded since 1944 to movies and television films. The Golden Globe Award is presented every year in January, following the voting of some 90 international journalists living in Hollywood.
