«There is no honesty and democracy even in the US itself.» The President Almazbek Atambayev stated at the meeting with the heads of missions of international observers at the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.

According to him, Barack Obama’s assistant, Michael McFaul, told the media that an associate of the incumbent president won the election in Kyrgyzstan. «Of course, if a pro-American candidate won, they would sing like nightingales,» Almazbek Atambayev said.

The head of state stressed: despite the fact that there was funding from outside, Kyrgyzstan was able to defend its independence.

The meeting was attended by the heads of missions from the CIS countries, OSCE, SCO, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the European Parliament, as well as representatives from Russia, Uzbekistan and China.

The day before, elections of the head of the state were held in Kyrgyzstan. According to preliminary calculations, the candidate from the party of power Sooronbai Jeenbekov takes the lead. He was already congratulated by the head of Russia Vladimir Putin.
