Humanitarian aid delivered to affected residents of Chon-Alai

Humanitarian aid, construction materials have been delivered to the affected by earthquake residents of Chon-Alai district, Osh region of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The ministry delivered more than 5 tons of pasta products, 2.7 tons of sugar, 8 tons of vegetable oil and more than one ton of tea, which are stored in the village of Karamyk, Zhenkendi rural area.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations had reportedly delivered 120 tons of cement which was distributed among Karamyk (40 tons), Kara-Teiyt (30 tons), Zhekendi (20 tons), Shibe (10 tons), and Chuluk (20 tons) villages. On May 17, four trucks left Kyzyl-Kiya town to deliver other 80 tons of cement.

Zhumadilla Zhaparov, head of Chon-Alai district, told 24.kg news agency that the cement will be sold to the affected residents for 5 soms per kilogram. Authorities conduct explanatory work among the population on the construction of earthquake resistant houses.

When residents come for the registration of documents for construction, they are offered projects of compact, earthquake resistant houses, and the residents themselves have begun to pay more attention to this.
