List of terrorist and extremist organizations banned in Kyrgyzstan

Today, the deputies discussed amendments to the law on countering terrorism at the session of the Parliament. They suggested regularly to publish a list of organizations that are considered to be terrorist in Kyrgyzstan. As of today, there are 20 of them.

Even before the adoption of the bill, the website of the State Commission for Religious Affairs of Kyrgyzstan posted a list of organizations whose activities are banned in the country.

Destructive, extremist and terrorist organizations in Kyrgyzstan are the following:

1. Al-Qaeda. By the decision of the Pervomaisky court of the city of Bishkek dated September 15, 2006, it is recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

2. The Taliban. By the decision of the Pervomaisky court of the city of Bishkek dated September 15, 2006, it is recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

3. East Turkistan Islamic Movement. The decision of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 20, 2003 recognized it as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

4. Kurdistan People’s Congress (Kongra-Gel). By the decision of the Pervomaisky court of the city of Bishkek dated June 11, 2008, it is recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

5. Eastern Turkestan Liberation Organization. By the decision of the Supreme Court dated August 20, 2003, it was recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

6. Hizb ut-Tahrir-al-Islami. By the decision of the Supreme Court dated August 20, 2003, it is recognized as an extremist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

7. Islamic Jihad Union. By the decision of the Pervomaisky court of the city of Bishkek dated June 11, 2008, it is recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

8. Turkistan Islamic Party (Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan). By the decision of the Supreme Court dated August 20, 2003, it was recognized as a terrorist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

9. Unification Church (Moon’s Church). The decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court of the city of Bishkek dated February 22, 2012 prohibited its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

10. Zhaishul Mahdi. By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of the city of Bishkek dated October 24, 2012 its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

11. Jund-al-Khalifa. By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of the city of Bishkek dated October 24, 2012, its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

12. Ansarullah (Ansar Allah). By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of the city of Bishkek dated October 24, 2012, its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

13. Takfir Wal-Hijra. By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of the city of Bishkek dated October 24, 2012, its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

14. Acromia. On March 14, 2014, the Pervomaisky court of the city of Bishkek recognized the religious movement Akromiya as an extremist organization and banned its activities on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

15. Said Buryatsky. On March 14, 2014, the Oktyabrsky court of the city of Bishkek recognized the agitational propaganda materials and propaganda activities of Tikhomirov A.A. — Said Buryatsky as extremist.

16. ISIL. On February 13, 2015, the Oktyabrsky court of the city of Bishkek recognized it as a terrorist and extremist organization, activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

17. Jabhat an Nusra. By the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of the city of Bishkek dated June 23, 2015, it was recognized as terrorist and extremist. Its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

18. Katibat al-Imam al-Bukhari (Imam Bukhari Battalion). On May 13, 2015 by the decision of the Osh city court the organization was recognized as terrorist and extremist. Its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

19. Jannat Oshiklari. By decision of the Osh City Court dated May 13, 2015, the organization was recognized as a terrorist and extremist organization. Its activity on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is prohibited.

20. Jamaat at-Tawhid wal-Jihad. By decision of the Osh City Court dated March 17, 2016, the unit was recognized as a terrorist organization.
