CASA-1000, energy, trade: What discussed at IMF meeting in Tashkent

In Tashkent, at a meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund constituency group, Finance Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Suinaliev presented Kyrgyzstan’s position on macroeconomic development, regional cooperation, and engagement with international financial institutions, the Ministry of Finance reported.

The minister noted the steady growth of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability and containing inflationary pressures.

In his remarks, the senior official emphasized the importance of implementing regional infrastructure projects, including the construction of Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant, CASA-1000 project, and the development of international transport corridors to strengthen regional integration, enhance energy security, and expand trade and economic ties across Central Asia.

The minister also expressed Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to remain a reliable partner in further strengthening cooperation for the sustainable development of the entire region, and underscored the importance of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in supporting countries in the region.
