President orders faster construction of fish farm and ship assembly complex

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov today, July 1, reviewed investment projects for the construction of a modern fish farm and a ship assembly complex in Pristan Karakol settlement during a working visit to Issyk-Kul region.

The head of state was presented with a fish farm project aimed at restoring the biodiversity of Issyk-Kul Lake. The project envisages breeding chebak and whitefish for release into the lake, as well as raising trout and, in the future, pike-perch for commercial purposes.

The planned production capacity of the facility is up to 2,000 tons of fish per year. Construction began in June 2026, with completion scheduled for November this year.

The president was informed that the enterprise will use modern engineering solutions to ensure sustainable fish farming. The production complex will include 33 fish-breeding pools and a modern water treatment system with zero pollutant discharge, aimed at protecting aquatic biological resources.

Special attention has been paid to the environmental component of the project.

The facility’s power supply is based on solar panels, enabling full coverage of electricity demand through renewable energy sources.

A full production cycle is planned — from fry incubation to finished products. The project is aimed at supplying the domestic market with fresh chilled fish, creating new jobs, developing regional infrastructure, and exporting products to Russia and China.

The head of state was also presented with a design for a ship assembly facility with a displacement of up to 350 tons.

The project is based on environmentally friendly technologies. The concept envisages assembling vessels with electric engines, eliminating harmful emissions into the aquatic environment.

The project includes a production complex consisting of a shipbuilding hangar and a two-story administrative building. The hangar will house ship assembly operations, while the administrative building will contain office, engineering, and technical facilities. The total area of the complex will be 2,500 square meters, with a workforce of 120 employees.

President Sadyr Japarov instructed officials to ensure the timely implementation of the projects, strict compliance with environmental requirements, and high-quality execution of all works.
