Foreign Ministry urges Kyrgyzstanis to avoid travel to Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, in connection with the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and airstrikes on the territory of Iran, strongly recommends that citizens refrain from traveling to the country until the situation stabilizes, the ministry said in a statement.

Citizens currently in Iran are advised, in the event of emergencies, to immediately contact the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Tehran or the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry:

As of February 28, 2026, according to open sources, the state border between Turkey and Iran remains officially open. Border checkpoints are operating as usual.

The Foreign Ministry continues to closely monitor developments and urges citizens to remain calm and strictly observe personal safety measures.

Earlier it was reported that the armed forces of Israel and the United States carried out multiple strikes on various cities and military facilities in Iran. In response, Tehran launched attacks on Israel and U.S. military bases in several Middle Eastern countries. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation against Iran.
