Journalist Kanyshai Mamyrkulova was detained in Bishkek. An activist Amanbol Babakulov reported.
According to him, Kanyshai Mamyrkulova was first interrogated at the capital’s Main Internal Affairs Department.
According to preliminary data, the media representative was charged under Article 278 «Mass riots» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Nurbek Sydykov, a lawyer at the Media Policy Institute, will act as her lawyer.
The Main Internal Affairs Department has not yet commented on the reports of Kanyshai Mamyrkulova’s detention.
