The countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are joining forces to combat climate change. The Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Meder Mashiev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, today, on the sidelines of the 29th UN Climate Conference, the first session of the Ministers of Ecology of the OTS states was held in the Uzbekistan pavilion.
«We already had a group within Central Asia, and now we have created an OTS group. We signed a declaration on cooperation in the framework of environmental protection, ecology, and climate change. We will meet and work together. The Minister of Kazakhstan proposed to hold the next meeting in this format in their country in 2025. We supported the idea. The OTS countries have common problems, we will exchange experience. We have a lot to learn from each other,» Meder Mashiev said.
The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is taking place in Baku from November 11 to November 22. About 100 heads of state and government, 150 delegations from around the world are taking part in its work.
