Aviation authorities of Central Asia and Qatar sign protocol on cooperation

A multilateral meeting of the heads of aviation authorities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Qatar was held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The main issues of discussion were the prospects for the economic development of air transport, increasing the efficiency of the industry and strengthening international agreements. Particular attention was paid to building capacity in the region and international cooperation.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a multilateral protocol on cooperation. The document includes joint programs under the auspices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as well as support for audit within USOAP/USAP and the ICAO Air Navigation Commission (ANC) programs. The protocol also provides for expanded participation of the countries of the region in the ICAO Council and the ANC.

The heads of aviation authorities noted the importance of long-term partnership to ensure the safe and sustainable development of civil aviation in the region.
