The arrest of the former fiancé of the president’s niece, Lazat Nurkozhoeva, and his brother has been extended. The Pervomaisky Court of the capital informed 24.kg news agency.
The period of application of the preventive measure in the form of detention against Aftandil Sabyrbekov and his brother has been extended until the end of the investigation, that is, until December 3. They are accused under Article 282, Part 3 «Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues for the purpose of sale in large quantities» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Recall, Aftandil Sabyrbekov was detained in early July.
Not long before that, he proposed to Lazat Nurkozhoeva in Oruu-Sai gorge. For this purpose, he rented a helicopter from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and paid more than 157,000 soms for an hour of flight. This caused discontent among the population. «Relatives and friends of the country’s leaders should be an example for others, not everyone has the opportunity to rent a helicopter. Is this why they bought helicopters for the Ministry of Emergency Situations? The President said to stop wasting money,» social media users posted.
After this, the head of state Sadyr Japarov apologized for his niece.
