Dean of Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University detained for bribetaking

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has detained the dean of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University for taking a bribe. The press center of the SCNS reported.

According to the security services, the dean of the humanitarian and pedagogical faculty was systematically engaged in extortion during state exams.

Earlier, as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic «Extortion », the deputy dean of the humanitarian and pedagogical faculty of the Osh Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University was detained and placed in a pretrial detention center for two months.

During the investigative and operational activities, the involvement of the dean in the corruption scheme was established. He was also placed in the temporary detention facility of the pretrial detention center of the SCNS for two days.

The State Committee calls for reporting existing cases of corruption and bribery in the education system.
