The volume of remittances to Kyrgyzstan in May 2024 amounted to $253.3 million. This is $19.7 million more than a month earlier. The National Bank provided the data.
The main part of the remittances came from the CIS countries, the volume of which amounted to $236.8 million (93.49 percent). At least $16.6 million (6.55 percent) came from non-CIS countries.
The total volume of remittances to Kyrgyzstan from January to May amounted to $1,176.6 billion.
The outflow of funds from the country decreased in May and reached $32.4 million, which is $2.5 million less than in April. The bulk of the money was sent to the CIS countries — $26.7 million (82.41 percent), and $5.7 million (17.59 percent) — to non-CIS countries. The volume of remittances from Kyrgyzstan for five months amounted to $205.6 million.
The net inflow of remittances in January-March 2024 to Kyrgyzstan is $971 million.
