The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has temporarily banned commercial banks and payment organizations from charging fees from individuals for transfers in the national currency within the country. According to the resolution, the restriction applies to transactions made through mobile applications and online banking, and will be in effect until December 31, 2025.
As the central bank explains, this measure will help increase the availability of banking services for all segments of the population and accelerate the implementation of digital technologies in the banking sector. The resolution will come into force one month after its official publication.
