One of largest producers of precious metals intends to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan

One of the world’s largest producers of precious metals and products made from them, Krastsvetmet, is ready to participate in the study of mineral resources in Kyrgyzstan and assessment of their economic potential. Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Mikhail Kotyukov announced at the XI Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference.

At least 100 percent of Krastsvetmet shares belong to the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The plant produces eight precious metals (ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, platinum, gold and silver), processes mineral and secondary raw materials and manufactures products with a main component content of up to 99.99 percent.

Krastsvetmet is now ready to begin joint research of geomineral resources in Kyrgyzstan in order to assess the economic potential. The company is also already exploring the issue of cooperation within the framework of programs implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic on creation of a basalt fiber production facility. Such contacts at the working level are already underway," Mikhail Kotyukov said.

Regarding issues of economic cooperation between the region and the Kyrgyz Republic, he noted that currently more than 90 enterprises in the region have stable economic ties with entrepreneurs from the republic. According to him, the region is interested in expanding this cooperation and is ready to supply agricultural products, woodworking, mechanical engineering, construction materials, industrial equipment, communications equipment, chemical products to Kyrgyzstan and, in turn, import fabrics, vegetables, and fruits from the republic.
