Meeting of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who arrived on a visit to Kyrgyzstan, took place at the state residence in Cholpon-Ata city.
After a joint photo session, the parties headed to the hall for bilateral negotiations. It is expected that Sadyr Japarov and Antonio Guterres will discuss the state and prospects of cooperation within the UN, exchange views on current issues on the international agenda, and get acquainted with one of the UNDP projects.
It is noted that a cultural and introductory program is also planned. Tomorrow, July 3, in the morning, the UN Secretary General will leave for Astana to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Recall, UN Secretary-General António Guterres went on a tour of Central Asian countries. He will visit Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. In each of the states, the Secretary-General will meet with the president and other senior government officials, as well as familiarize himself with projects related to the fight against climate change and talk to local activists.
