Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek ruled against an activist Zarina Torokulova. Lawyer Akmat Alagushev informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the prosecutor asked for five years in prison, the lawyers asked to acquit her.
«As a result, Zarina Torokulova was sentenced to five years with probation for three years. She was released in the courtroom,» the lawyer said.
Earlier, the prosecution noted that Zarina Torokulova shared two messages from Umai Aruuu Facebook account. One was «Zhaparov mafia» and the other was «Let’s organize an online rally» — a repost of a video of journalist Olzhobai Shakir. He was detained on August 23, 2023 by officers of the State Committee for National Security and accused of calling for active disobedience to law enforcement officers, mass riots and attempted seizure of power.
Earlier, Olzhobai Shakir called on citizens to come to a rally. He intended to organize a protest on August 31. The journalist opposed transfer of four resorts in Issyk-Kul region to Uzbekistan.
