Kyrgyzstan’s gross international reserves reached $3,236.48 billion at the end of 2023. The website of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reported.
This is the highest level of reserves in the last two years. In December, gross international reserves increased by $184.48 million. Compared to December 2022, they increased by $438.39 million. The highest level of the reserves was in September 2021 — $3,241.14 billion.
The National Bank uses the reserves to smooth out sharp fluctuations in the foreign exchange market. In 2023, it conducted 12 interventions to sell dollars for a total of $610,840 million.
