A land plot was found in Oi-Talaa village, Bagysh aiyl aimak, Suzak district for the construction of a new airport in Jalal-Abad. The press service of Manas International Airport OJSC confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
There is already a corresponding order of the Cabinet of Ministers. To carry out the transfer of the Jalal-Abad airport, the State Civil Aviation Agency is recommended to conduct appropriate aeronautical, meteorological and other necessary studies of the land plot.
«Manas International Airport OJSC has begun preparing technical specifications, then a tender will be held for the development of design estimates, followed by a tender for construction. So far, the issue of financing and who exactly will build it has not been resolved. Now Jalal-Abad airport has regional status. After the construction of the new one, it will have international status,» the company said.
24.kg news agency also learned from its own sources that the necessary studies on relocating the airport will be carried out jointly with specialists from the Moscow Design Institute.
