Officials propose to increase size of investments in small PPP projects

Officials propose to increase the minimum amount of investment in small public-private partnership (PPP) projects. The National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan is submitting for public discussion amendments to the legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on public-private partnership issues.

As noted, this is being done to increase motivation and stimulate the participation of investors, including foreign ones, in the implementation of PPP projects.

In particular, it is proposed to increase the period of inadmissibility of inspections by law enforcement and inspection bodies from three to five years after signing the PPP agreement, with the exception of tax audits.

It is also proposed to review the timing of consideration and approval of competitive documents for fiscal risks for the state budget.

Officials believe that the new norms will allow for better preparation of PPP projects with the identification of fiscal risks for the state budget.
