A small hydropower station (HPS) was built in Ton district of Issyk-Kul region with support of Russia. State News portal reports.
According to it, the construction of the small HPS in Ton district was completed with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF). Half of the cost of the project was covered by the fund in the amount of $2.5 million.
The new HPS, whose production capacity is 4.5 megawatts, will cover the electricity needs of Ton district by 15 percent.
According to the Chairman of the Board of the RKDF Artem Novikov, 17.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity will be generated annually at the station.
