Rosatom intends to continue the reclamation of tailings dumps in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Mambetov and Deputy General Director of the State Corporation Nikolai Spassky discussed the issue at a meeting in Minsk. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to it, Rosatom has completed work on Kak tailings dump in Min-Kush village and the transfer of hazardous waste between Taldy-Bulak and Dalniy complexes.

The parties discussed successful cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the interstate target program «Reclamation of the territories of states affected by uranium mining production.»

«Taking into account the successful implementation of the program and the long-term fruitful partnership aimed at reducing the risk of disasters with radioecological consequences, the parties discussed the continuation of cooperation to bring former mining facilities in Kyrgyzstan to a safe environmental condition in a bilateral format at Kyzyl-Zhar and Tuya-Moyun and Kadzhi-Sai sites,» the statement says.
