Actrapid short-acting insulin has arrived at the warehouse. Chief part-time endocrinologist of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan Natalya Dobrynina told 24.kg news agency.
Readers previously complained about the lack of this medicine in the republic.
«Every spring we are faced with the lack of long-acting insulin Protaphane. Less than six months later, we were faced with the lack of short-acting insulin. Patients with type 1 diabetes cannot go a single day without insulin; they need both types of it. The dispensary said that Actrapid was not available and they had no information when it would be available,» the readers reported.
They complained that it was almost impossible to buy insulin in pharmacies, and if they can do it, it costs a lot of money.
According to Natalya Dobrynina, the Endocrinology Center ran out of Actrapid on Monday, but then it was received from another hospital.
«It is available for this week and it will be in all regions. Actrapid arrived at the warehouse today, it just hasn’t been distributed yet,» she assured.
