Kyrgyzstan receives year’s supply of Protaphane insulin

Kyrgyzstan received a year’s supply of Protaphane insulin. The chief visiting endocrinologist of the Ministry of Health, Natalya Dobrynina, told 24.kg news agency.

According to her, the cargo is at the airport now.

«If it arrives at the warehouse today, then tomorrow we will start issuing it to patients in Bishkek. The regions were also invited for tomorrow, if they can come, if refrigerators are free, then insulin will be in the regional centers within a day or two. I think it will be delivered to remote areas within a week,» Natalya Dobrynina said.

Batches of mixed and short-acting preparations Mixtard and Actrapid were earlier delivered to the republic.

Problems with supply of insulin began in March. In May, patients began to complain about the lack of the medication. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan explained the delay in delivery by an increase in the delivery time by the plant itself and failure of a tender in February.
