Kyrgyzstan and Iran to create joint investment office

A joint investment office will be created by Kyrgyzstan and Iran. The corresponding memorandum was signed at the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.

Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that the joint investment office would finance «self-sustaining projects in priority sectors of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.» According to him, the initiative will help strengthen and develop deep, sustainable relations between the two countries.

The official added that Iran’s joining the SCO would have a positive impact on the growth of economic and trade ties between states. He indicated his readiness to launch direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and Iran, and also proposed to develop plans together with the Iranian side to create joint ventures on the territory of the republic.

«This will intensify trade and economic interaction and will make a tangible contribution to the development of the tourism industry of both countries,» Daniyar Amangeldiev said.
