At least 2,338 people live in social residential institutions in Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration provided such data.
The head of the ministry, Gulnara Baatyrova, checked readiness of the institutions for winter.
«Our care recipients are single elderly citizens and single married couples, adults and children with psychoneurological diagnoses. Our task is to provide them with comfortable living conditions. Last year, by presidential decree, funding for food was doubled. The social residential institutions provide medical services, libraries are working there,» she said and added that all inspected social institutions are ready for the winter season, provided with fuel, winter clothing, and food.
