Six nursing homes for the elderly and people with disabilities were overhauled with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland. Press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, canteens, sewerage, shower and laundry systems, and bath complexes have been repaired in the institutions. This improved the living conditions of over 900 people.
«Taking care of the people living in the residential institutions is one of the priority tasks of the state. The monetary standards for food have been doubled by the decree of the President Sadyr Japarov last year. This allowed to make fruits, vegetables, juices and pastries a daily ration of the elderly, adults and children with disabilities. We have improved their living conditions, made their lives a little more comfortable,» the minister Kudaibergen Bazarbayev said at the renovated Zhaiyl psychoneurological residential institution.
The total cost of repairs in six residential institutions exceeded 27 million soms.
