Deputies approve transfer of land plot in Issyk-Kul to Azerbaijani investors

The Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration approved a draft agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Azerbaijan on investments for the construction of a five-star hotel on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake.

Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency Nuradil Bayasov noted that the hotel will be built in the village of Kara-Oi, Issyk-Kul region. The draft agreement was developed in 1997. This is the first five-star hotel in the region.

«After 49 years, the land plot will be transferred to the Kyrgyz side, but the Azerbaijani side, within the framework of this agreement, has a priority right to prolongation,» Nuradil Bayasov said.

Earlier, parliament member Dastan Bekeshev said on his Telegram channel that the Committee on Budget and Finance received a draft agreement with Azerbaijan on the construction of a five-star hotel on the shores of Issyk-Kul lake.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers is providing 17 hectares of land for this in Kara-Oi village, of which 12 hectares will be developed, 4 hectares are intended for a park and 1 hectare is allocated for a beach area accessible to all citizens.
