The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) detained employees of Chui — Bishkek Plant Quarantine Directorate of the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection and Quarantine under the Ministry of Agriculture. Press center of the state committee reported.
In the course of operational and investigative measures within the framework of the initiated criminal case, it was established that officials for a monetary reward — from 1,000 to 3,000 soms — ignored the requirements of the regulation and issued phytosanitary certificates for the export of regulated products.
«At the same time, for the purpose of secrecy, officials entered into an agreement with individual private firms, which acted as an intermediary. As a result of operational and investigative measures in the framework of the criminal case, the facts of receiving money on a systematic basis by employees in the Alamedin and Moskovsky districts were registered,» the statement says.
Based on the collected evidence, three people were detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
Work is underway to establish the damage caused to the state, as well as to identify people involved.
