Social media user detained in Kyrgyzstan for inciting hatred

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan detained a user of social media on suspicion of inciting hatred. Press service of the ministry reported.

A video appeared in one of the social media on September 2, in which an unknown person addresses the media with words inciting interregional enmity.

The fact was registered and a criminal case was initiated under the article «Incitement of racial, ethnic, national, religious interregional enmity (discord)» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The 27-year-old citizen was detained and taken to the police station. The investigation is ongoing.
