An increase in Kyrgyzstan’s imports is provided by increased supplies of machinery and equipment, mainly from China. The Eurasian Development Bank said.
It recalled that the foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan increased by 31.1 percent compared to the first half of 2022. The growth of exports by 34.6 percent and imports by 30.3 percent contributed to the increase in the indicator. The value of exports increased due to the resumption of gold supplies abroad (31.1 percent contribution to export growth).
«Mutual trade with the EAEU countries decreased by 6.6 percent, mainly due to a decrease in the volume of foreign trade operations with Russia. We believe that in the rest of the year gold supplies abroad will continue to ensure the growth of exports, and imports will be formed due to the growth in the volume of imported goods from China,» EDB analysts believe.
