A special commission created by the city kaziyat has been checking the activities of all religious institutions in Bishkek since August 11. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The documents of mosques and madrasahs, as well as curricula, compliance with sanitary and fire safety requirements are being checked.
The check is carried out within the framework of the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution on control over the activities of religious institutions. «Appropriate measures will be taken against managers who did not prepare for the check,» they noted.
At the beginning of the week, the interdepartmental commission checked the activities of religious institutions in Osh region. As a result, the activity of 39 mosques and 21 madrasahs was suspended. The heads of some religious institutions have been warned about the need to comply with the relevant requirements.
In total, more than 3,500 religious organizations are registered in Kyrgyzstan. There are about 2,600 mosques, about 100 madrasahs, 10 Islamic institutes in the country. The number of Christian-oriented organizations is 399, the rest belong to other religions.
