About 100 trolleybus drivers announce their resignation

Nearly 100 trolleybus drivers wrote letters of resignation. They demand to increase their salaries.

«We are not satisfied. We are paid from 20,000 to 28,000 soms per month. Prices are growing, but wages do not increase. In addition, we take risks every day. If someone scratches the vehicle, the entire salary is spent on repairs. There is no insurance, we are not paid for harm,» the trolleybus driver Marat Duyshekeyev said.

The drivers noted that there was a meeting the day before, at which they were promised an increase in their salaries to 40,000 soms in case of successful introduction of electronic ticketing. They also admitted that they have a moonlighting. After the transition to electronic ticketing, it will no longer be possible. But at the same time, they note that they are not against cashless payments. «But let Tulpar sell the cards themselves, we are drivers, not sellers,» they added.

According to the drivers, the size of their salary depends on the implementation of the plan. They sometimes take risks to fulfill it. «If you don’t fulfill the plan for two months in a row, then you are fired,» the drivers said.

They demand to increase their salaries to 60,000 soms.
