Kyrgyzstan plans to increase fines for pollution of Issyk-Kul lake

It is planned to increase fines for pollution of Issyk-Kul lake. The head of the Water and Land Resources Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, Taalai Dalbaev, said at a briefing.

He noted that administrative measures and fines are outdated and do not meet modern requirements.

«They will be reviewed, because the pollution subjects do is huge, and the fines are small. In addition, the control system will be tightened — a ban or restriction on activities that pollute water resources,» he said.

Recall, owner of a water scooter was fined 10,000 soms due to the leakage of fuel and lubricants into Issyk-Kul lake, as a result of which a large oil stain formed on the surface of the lake.
