The exchange rate of the Russian ruble fell below 1 som again in Kyrgyzstan.
Today, the exchange offices of the capital and commercial banks buy the ruble for 0.98 — 0.995 soms, and sell for 1.01 — 1.04 soms. The nominal rate is set by the National Bank at the level of 1.0146 soms (a drop by 1.55 percent over the day).
A similar situation was observed last weekend. Then the Russian currency was bought for 0.85 — 0.88 soms. The National Bank connected this with the latest events in the Russian Federation. But at the beginning of the week the situation stabilized, and the rate rose again.
