Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $17.2 million for month

As a result of April 2023, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,640.34 billion (493,642.85 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Including $4,524.93 billion (396,022.14 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,115.41 billion (97,620.71 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $17.2 million. At the same time, external debt increased by $13.84 million and the domestic debt — by $3.35 million.

As a result of April 2023, the public debt reached 53.25 percent of GDP.

Over a half of the external debt of the republic (51.6 percent) is multilateral loans — $2,333.53 billion. The country owes other $2,135.86 billion (47.2 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 38.4 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of April 2023 amounted to $1,737.23 billion.
