Elon Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink has received an approval for clinical trials on humans.
It was previously reported that at the beginning of 2022, Neuralink, founded in 2016, had already applied for permission for such tests to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but it rejected the company’s application.
«We are pleased to announce that we have received FDA approval to begin human clinical trials! This is the result of the incredible work of Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people,» the company tweeted.
Additional information on the recruitment of clinical trial participants will be announced soon.
Elon Musk has previously stated that the «revolutionary brain implant» Neuralink will help in overcoming the conditions such as paralysis or blindness.
