At least 15 portable hemodialysis machines were bought and donated to healthcare organizations in Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.
According to it, the devices are indispensable in intensive care units, they are designed to filter the blood in acute renal injury (ARI) from toxins and excess fluid. «The purchased equipment is a new generation of portable hemodialysis machines (2023 year of manufacture),» the ministry noted.
The equipment was delivered and installed: in the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, the National Surgical Center, the National Hospital under the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy, the Clinical Emergency Hospital in Bishkek, the Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital, the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare, Chui, Talas , Jalal-Abad, Batken, Issyk-Kul and Naryn Regional Combined Hospitals, as well as in the General Medical Practice Center of Toktogul district.
The machines were purchased as part of the World Bank-funded COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, which aims to prevent, detect and respond to the threat posed by COVID-19.
