Culture Ministry of Kyrgyzstan develops bill calling to respect young people

The Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan developed a bill calling to respect young people. The Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on social policy.

The deputies consider a draft law on youth in the second reading. According to the amendments, the young people category is proposed to be determined from 14 to 30 years old. The bill also provides for the functioning of youth houses and centers. In addition, it is planned to regulate the issues of volunteer activities of the young people, which are currently quite active, but not regulated by law.

Marat Tagaev noted that the ministry proposed 14 new amendments in the first reading. Nine more, 23 in total, are submitted for the second reading after public discussions.

— Respect for young people (the deputy minister did not explain what this article implies and what responsibility is provided for violation of this norm);

— Creation of a youth movement.

The official noted that 8 million soms were allocated for the implementation of youth support programs this year.

The Minister of Culture Altynbek Maksutov also said that the allocated 8 million to support youth was not enough, the department asked to increase the amount to 40 million soms.
