U.S. Secretary of State to visit Kazakhstan on February 28

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Kazakhstan on February 28. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

«The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will pay his first official visit to Kazakhstan on February 28. During his stay in Astana, he will meet with the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

Antony Blinken will attend a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the Central Asian states and the United States in the C5 + 1 format in Astana.

«The agenda includes issues of further development of regional cooperation and partnership with the United States,» the Foreign Ministry informed.

The C5 + 1 format is a multilateral mechanism for interaction between the five countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) and the United States. It was created in 2015 to discuss regional issues in the fields of economy, ecology and security.
